If the innovation systems approach to capacity development is appropriate, reflect on how you will monitor the analysis and refinement process and progress made:
- Does the analysis and refinement process put you on track to achieve your intended capacity development results?
- Do you have indicators, milestones, or timelines to help you know whether you are moving toward an innovation systems approach to your outputs and outcomes for capacity development?
- Are there customizable process indicators that can capture your expectations of progress made during the learning process?
These learning tools and exercises require users to think deeply about capacity development strategies; to be open to new and different ways of viewing challenges and devising solutions; to be ready to revisit ideas and redo exercises after field testing and modify approaches if necessary; to take ownership of the process; and to respect and trust fellow participants.
This guidebook aims to encourage an ongoing, iterative process of learning and reflection. This process is not meant to be either rigid or mechanical, nor is the guidance here meant to be prescriptive.
