It is never too early to stop and think about the problem from an innovation systems perspective:
- Is there a straightforward technical “fix” to the problem, or does it demand a more complex solution?
- If it demands a more complex solution, does that solution require many different capabilities, e.g., the capacity to design, refine, test, implement, distribute, or market solutions?
If a complex solution requiring multiple capabilities is needed, then proceed with the process.
